Becoming a member of the Kensington & Chelsea Over 50s Forum opens the door to a welcoming and active community where you can meet new people, discover new interests, look after your health and wellbeing, and enjoy later life.

Established in 1996, we are an award-winning registered charity and the largest independent older people's forum in Kensington & Chelsea, with more than 2,700 members. We are also proud recipients of The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

So much to enjoy

Membership gives you access to a varied programme of more than 140 events and activities throughout the year. From health and wellbeing, arts and culture to history, travel, finance and topical issues, there is always something interesting happening. K & C Forum

Members can enjoy free weekly Tai Chi, exercise and wellbeing activities, art sessions, talks from doctors and other experts, cultural and history events, outings and social gatherings.

Meet people and make new friends

The Forum is about much more than attending events. It is a community.

Our activities provide opportunities to meet people with similar interests, enjoy conversations, make new friendships and stay connected. This is particularly important for people who may find their social circle becoming smaller as they grow older. The Forum's work specifically aims to tackle loneliness and social isolation and help older residents remain engaged in their communities.

Look after your health and wellbeing

We want our members to enjoy healthier, more independent lives.

Our programme includes activities designed to encourage physical activity, mobility and confidence, together with expert talks and practical information about health and wellbeing. Members also have access to our popular Tai Chi programme, while our wider activities include chair exercise and other opportunities to remain active.

Keep learning and discovering

Later life should still be full of new experiences. Members can take part in talks, workshops and events covering everything from health and medicine to art, culture, history, finance, travel and the changing world around us. Many sessions are led by specialists and experienced professionals, giving members access to trusted information and expertise.

Get help with the digital world

As more everyday services move online, we want to make sure older residents are not left behind. Our digital inclusion programme provides friendly support with smartphones, tablets, computers, email, the internet and accessing online services.

Have your voice heard

Membership also gives you an opportunity to influence issues affecting older people in Kensington & Chelsea. Members can contribute their views, participate in consultations, vote on certain Forum decisions and stand for election to some positions within the organisation. The Forum works to ensure that the experience and views of older residents are heard by organisations responsible for local services and policies.

Belong to something

Perhaps the greatest benefit of membership is simply knowing that you are part of a community.Whether you want to stay active, learn something new, meet people, enjoy an outing, attend an interesting talk, find information or help make Kensington & Chelsea a better place in which to grow older, the Forum is here for you.

Join us and make the most of later life.
